Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word document file format. Other formats are allowed only after preliminary agreement.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided. AMA citation style is prefered.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end of an article. Table/Figure label and name should be placed above and caption (comments) - right below the according table or figure. Also, all images must be duplicated and submitted as separate files in jpg or png format.
  • For research article background, methods, results, discussion and conclusion as well as structured abstract (background, methods, results, conclusion) need to be explicitly pointed. For articles in Ukrainian English text abstract is mandatory.
  • Detailed instruction on submission process can be found here (in Ukrainian): https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1NV4g_5v-MR1l-ymC3b3iPd7fCX57GzodPlEzUguswug

Author Guidelines

How to make a submission

"Psychosomatic Medicine and General Practice" is a scientific periodical, which accepts for publication original researches (randomized controlled clinical trials, observational studies, case-control studies, etc.), systematic reviews, descriptions of clinical cases and research letters.

The journal is approved by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine (Decree #409 from 17 March 2020).

Articles can be submitted upon online registration through an editorial manager. Authors need to register prior to submitting an article or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step process. Brief author guidelines can be found here. More detailed guidelines about the submission process can be found here (in Ukrainian).

Copyright

Copyright after the publication of the material remains with the authors. The authors are solely responsible for the accuracy of the published data.

Licensing conditions

All publications are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence, which allows free sharing, copying, and adaptation of the material for any purpose, even commercially, but with providing appropriate reference to the source, indicating the authors, title of the article and the journal in which the article was published (including volume number, issue, and electronic identification number of the article). By submitting an article, authors must agree to these terms.

Peer review

All research articles, reviews and clinical cases, which the journal receives, undergo a peer review. This process is provided by the external (regarding the journal editorial team and editorial board) reviewers, specialists in the article's research field. Reviewers after evaluation recommend to the assigned editor (from the journal staff or editorial board) whether the manuscript should be accepted, revised or rejected.

The peer review process is double-blind. Both the reviewer and the author are anonymous for each other. But we are planning to publish a list of our reviewers every year. The list for 2016-2017 will be available online at the end of 2017.

Publication and submission fees

For all articles submitted after 31 December 2017, Article Processing Charge is $75 and is payable only after the article is accepted for publication.

Plagiarism policy

We discourage any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism detection. For this purpose, editorial staff uses search engines for article text (string matches) and similarities in the bibliography with other articles. Additionally, English text articles are scanned with Grammarly Plagiarism Checker.

Possible reasons for article rejection

The article has no scientific quality, was previously published in this or others journals, didn't pass plagiarism check or was not appropriately formatted according to guidelines for authors.
